How do funeral plans work? The Prosperous Six Step Process

Prepaid funeral plans are the sensible way to plan for your future, whilst guaranteeing an element of financial security for yourself and your loved ones.

By getting a head start on your funeral arrangements and putting everything into place now, you can have peace of mind knowing that it’s all covered when the time comes.

However, we do understand that thinking about planning your own funeral can be daunting, and it can be difficult to know where to start. For this reason we have put together our six step funeral plan process, so that you can see exactly what you need to do, and when.

Prosperous Life are here for you every step of the way, and your dedicated funeral plan manager will guide you through each part of the process at a steady pace that suits you.

The prosperous Life 6 step journey

1. Enquire

Enquiring about a funeral plan couldn’t be any easier, we have 2 simple ways that you can purchase a plan with us. Simply use the contact page on our website and you can either call our number or send us a message by filling in the contact form.

Once you have entered some basic details on our contact form a member of our team will get back in touch with you promptly to discuss your enquiry.

You have the option to request a home visit where one of our friendly Funeral Planning Consultants will visit you and have a face to face chat, talking you through the process in the comfort of your own home.

Alternatively If you would like to discuss your needs over the phone then the whole process can be completed without the need for a visit.

It really is up to you.

2. Select one of our exclusive funeral planning packages

When planning a funeral there is a lot to consider, which is what led to the creation of Prosperous Life. We believe in making funerals simple and keeping both you and your family stress free during such an emotional time. To achieve this we have broken our funeral plans down into 3 customisable packages, that encompass everything you need to have the funeral you want.

Starting with our Silver package, we include all the necessary behind the scenes services to provide you with a service at an affordable price. These include the Funeral Director’s professional services, all of the necessary funeral arrangements, advice on certification and registration and eventual preparation and care of the deceased prior to the funeral.

In the service itself our Silver plan includes a standard coffin, a hearse to the crematorium or cemetery, use of the chapel of rest and the attendance of all funeral staff required to conduct the service. This plan also includes a £1000 contribution towards disbursements. Disbursements are 3rd party costs that arise during the process of a funeral.

Building on our Silver plan we have the Gold plan, which has become a popular offering. Our Gold plan includes all of the accoutrements from the Silver, but with the added benefits of a following limousine and a list of floral tributes. This option is excellent for those who want to make more of their final celebration, but still at a very affordable price.

Finally we have our Platinum plan, which is perfectly suited to large families and making your funeral a true celebration of your life. The Platinum plan allows you a premium coffin and two following limousines, meaning your whole family can travel as part of the funeral party. These upgrades are of course on top of everything else included within the Silver and Gold plans.

3. Personalise your plan

Here at Prosperous Life, we endeavour to ensure that everyone gets the opportunity to design their funeral the way they want it to be. This is why we give each and every customer the chance to personalise their plan.

Once you’ve chosen your funeral plan which includes all of the necessary standard arrangements, you’ll be able to add any special requests or wishes to your plan. This is all about adding unique touches to your service, and making sure your loved ones are aware of anything particular that you would like to happen

Special requests often include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Any special song requests to be played at the service
  • Dress code colours or themes for guests to adhere to
  • Flower arrangements, and/or donations to a chosen charity
  • Poems, prayers or readings to be included in the ceremony

The flexibility of our funeral plans mean that if you haven’t quite decided on your preferences at the time you wish to take out your plan, these can always be amended or added to at a later date.

4. Pay for your plan

Funerals are expensive, and unfortunately there’s no easy way of getting around that fact. However by taking out a prepaid funeral plan today, you are guaranteeing that your funeral director costs are covered when the time comes, meaning your family will not be faced with a bill for these services at the time of need. When you consider how funeral costs are increasing, this really does give you peace of mind.

At Prosperous Life we try to make paying for your funeral plan as easy as possible. The beauty of pre-paid plans is that you are prepared, and can pay for your funeral in smaller, easy to manage chunks.

All of our plans are flexible, and allow you to pay for the plan in the best way to suit you. Whether you wish to pay in one lump sum, or take the option of paying for your plan over a term of up to 10 years, it is totally up to you.

All of your contributions are held in an independent trust, keeping them safe and readily available for your time of need. We work with the Great British Funeral Trust to ensure that our corner of the funeral industry remains honest and gives you the peace of mind that your money will be safe for the years to come.

You can take comfort in the fact that everything has been taken care of, and you and your loved ones can feel at ease knowing that your money is being kept safe and secure, and there’s nothing else you need to do in regards to arranging your funeral – so you’re all set for a stress-free future.

Should a time arise where you have any queries about your funeral plan or would like to make any changes, as a valued Prosperous Life customer, you will be given direct contact to your allocated funeral plan manager to ensure your needs are met timely and efficiently.
